Our Therapy Horse- Amigo

 

Amigo is a 11 year old fully grown Miniature Horse that is registered by Pet Partners (Delta Society) to provide Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) and Animal Assisted Activities (AAA). This means he is trained to go into schools, nursing homes, hospitals, libraries and anywhere else anyone needs a little horse to brighten their day! We had to pass an examination as a team, through coursework and a physical test, to make sure he was up to the challenge. Amigo thrives in this very important job, he loves attention and always seems to know who needs to pet his soft coat and fluffy mane the most! He knows how to climb stairs, ride in elevators, go through automatic doors and is even potty trained! Amigo is also not afraid of wheelchairs, strollers, crutches or walkers making him a great asset to the animal therapy program. 

 

Visits from our therapy miniature horse are FREE to qualifying individuals or programs. We LOVE spreading joy with our friend Amigo, our philosophy is that everyday is better with a little horse in it!
